	Inspecting, setting
1	Observe general information on chassis alignment	Following repair work forcefully move vehicle up and down several times before measuring.	AR40.20-P-0201A
2	Check vehicle level at front axle	Insert measuring device (01) between the retaining bolts of the wishbone bearing. Position contact arm of measuring device (01) on transverse control arm and read off vehicle level value measured from center of vehicle.	Fig 2

3	Check vehicle level at rear axle	Model 170 Loosen right rear frame brace and swivel to one side.	*BA61.10-P-1001-01A
		Place the swivel arm of the measuring device (02) on the inside of the spring control arm. Position contact arm on the rear axle shaft and read off the plumb value of vehicle level, viewed from the center of the vehicle. On vehicles with ASR, remove bracket (62a) from spring control arm.	Fig 3

4	Adjust vehicle level at the front and rear axle	If the vehicle level at the front or rear axle outside the tolerance: ↓ Adjust the vehicle level by changing the springs or spring rubber mounts

		On vehicles with level control a too low vehicle level may not be corrected by changing the level controller link rod (control point): ↓ Check function of level control. If OK: ↓ Adjust the vehicle level by changing the spring or spring rubber mount.
