Checking rear axle camber - AR40.20-P-0331A

INSPECT Checking     
1.1 Check vehicle level at front and rear axles and adjust if necessary IMPORTANT With Mercedes-Benz measuring device.  
    Model 129, model 170 up to 28.02.00, model 170 with AMG lowering kit, models 202, 208 AR40.20-P-0300A
    Model 129 with ADS AR40.20-P-0300D
    Model 129 with ADS II AR40.20-P-0300E
    Model 140 AR40.20-P-0300B
    Model 210.00/01/02/03/04/05/06/07/20/21/22/23/24/26/27 AR40.20-P-0300C 
1.2 Check vehicle level at front and rear axles with electronic clinometer and adjust if necessary IMPORTANT With electronic clinometer.  
    Models 170, 202, 208 AR40.20-P-0301A
    Model 210.00/01/02/03/04/05/06/07/20/21/22/23/24/26/27 AR40.20-P-0301C 
    Model 210.08/28/6 AR40.20-P-0301D 
2 Check rear axle camber IMPORTANT The camber on the rear axle is not adjustable.
If substantial deviations in the rear axle camber are found, the cause may be one of the following:
  • Too great a difference in vehicle level between right and left-hand sides of vehicle.
  • Camber strut bent.
  • Accident damage to the frame floor. Level differences at the mounting points for the rear axle carrier between the left and right sides of the body. Experience shows that bending caused by an accident also has an effect on the toe.
