Preparation For Tests (Section 22)

CAUTION: To avoid damaging control modules all electrical testing should be done with a DVOM. DO NOT use an analog meter or test light to check control module circuits.
  1. Ignition: OFF
  2. Disconnect ESP/SPS control module (N47-5).
  3. Connect Socket box with test cable as per connection diagram. See CONNECTING TEST EQUIPMENT .
  4. Ensure battery voltage is 11-14 volts. Check base module fuse F3. All voltage checks are to be done with ignition switch in ON position. Check alternator ensure out put to be 11-14 volts. If problem is found, repair as necessary. If problem is not found, continue diagnosis. See FUNCTION TEST .
