The pinch protection feature is active when the one-touch window up control is operating. It works only in the upper opening area from 4 to 230 mm.
Function
The force required to close the window is monitored by measuring the motor current when the one-touch window up feature is activated in the synchronized state. The readings are stored in the door control module depending on the path traveled and the stored values are adapted each time the one-touch window up feature is used. This adaptation back cannot be accomplished when
- the force exceeds 100 N or
- the pinch protection feature is tripped or
- the power window locks up.
The readings remain stored even when the power supply is disconnected or the power window is desynchronized.
If the door control module recognizes that something is being pinched by comparing the motor current with the stored values, it stops the power window and then rolls the window back down 6 cm.
If the power window switch was activated in the up direction at the time pinching was detected, the door control module rolls the window back down only 1 cm.
On model 208 adaptation is not accomplished when the door is open.
On model 208.4 the one-touch window up feature is not activated .
