Activating/deactivating ATA

The ATA is a contact-controlled alarm system with acoustic and optical alarm signal.

There are two function sequences for activating/deactivating the ATA:

The RF signal from the remote control key (1) is received by the overhead control panel control module (N70) and transferred as a CAN message to the electronic ignition switch control module (N73).
The electronic ignition switch control module (N73) checks whether the access authorization is valid and if it coincides with the code a CAN message is sent to the PSE control module (A37).
The remote control receiver in the door handle (A26/1 or A26/2) transfers the infrared signal from the remote control key (1) to the door control module (N69/1 or N69/2).

The door control module converts the signal into a CAN message and transfers it to the electronic ignition switch control module (N73).

The electronic ignition switch control module checks the access authorization and when it coincides with the code sends a CAN message to the PSE control module (A37).

The PSE control module evaluates the message and activates or deactivates the ATA.

Activation of the ATA is confirmed by a LED in the ATA status/towing protection/IR switch (S85/2) in the center console.

Automatic activation, only

If a door or the trunk lid is opened and closed again after removing the ignition key, the ATA is activated after 120 s.

The PSE control module evaluates the message and activates or If one of the front doors or the trunk lid is opened within the reaction deactivates the ATA. time of 120s the reaction time is reset and restarted after closing (door or trunk lid).
