Removing and installing A/C compressor - AR83.55-P-5300F

ENGINE 104, 111, 112, 113, 602, 604, 605, 606, 611.961 in MODEL 210 with CODE (580) Air conditioning or Tempmatic for USA with CODE (581a) Air conditioning (Automatic)

12.8.97 Safety note added    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing, installing     
DANGER Risk of explosion  from welding or brazing work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  from inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant. Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area. No smoking or naked flames. Wear eye protection and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Do not carry out repair work on the circuit of the air conditioning system unless the system is drained. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Conduct if air conditioning system is damaged or leaking   AH83.30-N-0004-01A
NOTES Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work All models fitted with air conditioning AH83.30-N-0005-01A
IMPORTANT Notes for handling R134a refrigerant All models with R134a refrigerant AH83.30-N-0003-01A
1 Drain air conditioning system (recycling), evacuate, fill, inspect for leaks NOTES Add extracted quantity of compressor to the refrigerant circuit again when filling the air conditioning system (use fresh compressor oil)  
2 Remove lower engine compartment lining Model 210.03/05/07/23/27/28/66 AR61.20-P-1105AB

3 Slacken poly V-belt and take off Engine 104 ra13001041200x
    Engine 111 AR13.22-P-1202A
    Engine 112, 113 AR13.22-P-1202B
    Motor 602 AR13.22-P-1202HW
    Engine 604, 605, 606 AR13.22-P-3902-01HA
    Engine 611 AR13.22-P-1202HB
4 Unplug connector A9x1    
5 Remove bolts (4), disconnect suction and pressure lines and place to one side NOTES Plug openings (parts kit)  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 104, 111, 112, 113, 602, 604, 605, 606 *BA83.55-P-1002-01A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 611.961 *BA83.55-P-1003-01C 
6 Unscrew bolts (3), withdraw refrigerant compressor (A9) downwards COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS for lower front bolt *WH58.30-Z-1006-11A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 104, 111, 112, 113, 602, 604, 605, 606 *BA83.55-P-1001-01A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 611.961 *BA83.55-P-1002-01C 
    IMPORTANT Before installing a new refrigerant compressor allow pressure in the refrigerant compressor to escape slowly by opening the cover on the pressure-line side
NOTES In the event that the refrigerant compressor is not renewed, replace the O-rings (moisten with compressor oil)
 
7 Correct oil level in refrigerant compressor   AR83.55-P-5250E 
8 Install in the reverse order NOTES If the refrigerant compressor was replaced because of internal damage ↓
NOTES replace suction and pressure lines together with sealing rings
 
    IMPORTANT Observe quantity of oil to be added when replacing lines ↓ *BF83.55-P-1006-01A 
*BF83.55-P-1007-01A 
    Replace expansion valve AR83.30-P-5520F 
9 Replace receiver/drier   AR83.30-P-6520E 
10 Switch on air conditioning and allow it to idle for approx. 4 minutes IMPORTANT Set temperature dials to blue or automatic air conditioning to " Lo" Blower to max.  
11 Check air conditioning for proper function IMPORTANT Air outlet temperature at center nozzle should not drop below +5 ° C, if necessary ↓
perform diagnosis according to Diagnosis Manual
 
12 Find leaky point in air conditioning circuit COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS *WE58.40-Z-1002-20A
