Replacing ring gear of flywheel - AR03.30-P-8312A

3,4 Install retaining lock for crankshaft/ring gear NOTESUse M6x90 bolts otherwise threads in rear end cover will be damaged.  AR03.30-P-5000HA 
5 Remove flywheel, two-mass flywheel or driven plate   AR03.30-P-8001HA 
15 Ring gear Drill off ring gear, break off with a chisel or heat it quickly and remove immediately.  
    Check diameter of centering collar (a) for ring gear.
IMPORTANTInstallation: 
Clean contact surface for ring gear on flywheel before installing.
Heat ring gear to approx. 220 °C on a hot-plate or in a heating oven and pull onto flywheel.

    NOTES The ring gear is hardened. When heating, do not exceed a temperature of approx. 220 °C.
Use temperature measuring chalk!
A naked flame should only be used to heat the ring gear in exceptional cases. Only heat the inside of the ring gear.
After replacing the ring gear, the flywheel need not be re-balanced.

  Checking     
  After fitting on the ring gear, check the radial runout at the ring gear   *BE03.30-P-1001-04A
