DISCONNECTING
| Quiescent current retention unit | connect if possible. |
| Ground lead on battery | disconnect and remove pole terminal. |
| Shield on positive terminal | swing open. |
| Positive lead | disconnect from battery and remove battery terminal. |
CONNECTING
| Positive battery terminal | connect to battery. |
| Shield on positive terminal | swing shut. |
| Ground pole terminal on battery | connect. |
| If connected | disconnect quiescent current retention unit. |

If quiescent current retention unit was connected, skip last step!
