Checking vehicle level at front and rear axles - AR40.20-P-0300E

MODEL 129 with CODE (216c) Adaptive damping system (ADS II) with electronic level control

1 Drive vehicle onto measuring system with roller and sliding plates IMPORTANT Light in switch (S77/1s2): OFF  Normal vehicle level is set.  
  Inspecting     
2 Inspect oil level of level control and adjust to correct level   AP32.30-P-3211BA
3 Inspect vehicle level at track control arm or spring link SPECIAL TOOL Measuring device (01) for front axle Figure

IMPORTANT Level values not within tolerance ↓

  Setting     
4 Connect hand-held tester (HHT, 087) to data link connector (X11/4) IMPORTANT The vehicle level must not be set at the control rod. AD00.00-P-1000AZ
5 Engine: Idling     
6 HHT menu point:
"Level setting FA/RA" 
   
7 "Lower" vehicle at front/rear axle with HHT and  end with "STOP" as soon as below vehicle level IMPORTANT A setting must always be performed from bottom (lower level) to top (higher level). The vehicle may have to be bounced/pulled down several times if necessary for lowering. A fault is stored if the vehicle was lowered more than 45 mm below the specification.  
8 Set vehicle level at front/rear axle with HHT "lifting"  and confirm with "STOP"  once vehicle level is reached IMPORTANT Wait for end of overload protection time if a final correction is necessary.

    Vehicle level - front axle *BE40.20-P-1001-01A 
    Vehicle level - rear axle *BE40.20-P-1002-01A 
9 Stored set vehicle level with HHT (set control module to specification "0"); to do this, confirm "Store normal level in control module"  with "yes"  IMPORTANT The levels displayed in the HHT (actual values) are variations to the specifications stored in the control module. These are set to "0" after storing.  
10 Engine: OFF     
11 Erase fault memory IMPORTANT A fault is stored if the vehicle was lowered more than 45 mm below the specification. AD00.00-P-1000AZ
12 Check and correct headlamp adjustment   AP82.10-P-8260A
