Removing and installing radiator - RA20001204200X(20-4200)

Preceding work:

Fan cowl removed (20-3400) .

1. Model 129

   Expansion tank cap	open (release pressure).
   Coolant	drain from radiator (arrow).
   To drain coolant	fit hose (inner dia. 12 mm) onto connection (arrow).
   Drain plug (14)	unscrew.
   Coolant	drain into suitable vessel (10 liters).
   Oil lines (7 and 8) of automatic transmission	unscrew from radiator (4), screw on.
   Coolant hoses (9, 10, 11 and 12)	take off, fit on.
   Flat springs (15)	unclip upward, clip in.
   Condenser (20)	unbolt from radiator (4), bolt on.
   Radiator (4) Installation notes  The securing studs of the radiator must be inserted into the rubber pads (19) of the bottom cross member.	remove upward, install.
   Cooling system	fill, bleed Draining, pouring in coolant - anti-freeze protection table .
   Oil level of automatic transmission	check, adjust to correct level.
   Cooling system	check for leaks Testing cooling system for leaks .

   TIGHTENING TORQUES IN NM
   
   

   Gear oil hose of automatic transmission to radiator (union nut)	20
   Hose clips (reference value)	2.5
   Drain plug of radiator (reference value)	1.5

   7 mm socket wrench hexagon on flexible shaft for hose clips with worm drive

   e.g. Hazet, D-5630 Remscheid Order no. 426-7

2. Model 140

   Expansion tank cap	open (release pressure).
   Coolant	drain from radiator (arrow), refill.
   NOTE: To drain, connect hose (ID 12 mm)	to connection (arrow).
   Drain plug (14)	unscrew.
   Coolant (approx. 10 liters)	drain into suitable vessel.
   Oil lines (7 and 8) for automatic transmission	unscrew from radiator (4), screw on (20 Nm).
   Coolant hoses (9, 10 and 11)	remove, install.
   Plastic strips on radiator	pull off, fit on.
   Front air scoops (22)	remove, install (09-0060) .
   Bowden cable of hood catch at radiator (4)	detach, attach.
   Coolant hose (12)	detach, attach.
   Radiator (4)	unscrew from condenser (3), screw on.
   Radiator (4) Installation notes  The securing studs of the radiator must be inserted into the rubber grommets (19) of the bottom cross member when installing.	remove upward, install.
   With new radiator (4)	set adjusting bar (20) by hand with adjusting screw (21).
   To perform this step The adjusting bar (20) must be resting slightly pretensioned against the front cross member (2).	turn adjusting screw (21) when front cross member (2) installed.
   Cooling system	fill, bleed Draining, pouring in coolant - anti-freeze protection table .
   Oil level of automatic transmission	check, adjust to correct level.
   Cooling system	check for leaks Testing cooling system for leaks .

   Hose clamps (reference value)	2.5
   Drain plug, radiator	1.5
   Gear oil hose of automatic transmission to radiator (union nut)	20
