Performing Repair Work
Prior to starting body repair work, such as rear axle work, shock absorber work, spring work, or lifting vehicle onto a body straightening bench, extend roll-over bar and disconnect and shield negative battery cable. Additionally disconnect and remove both rear axle switches.
After performing repair work on roll-over bar, adjustment of roll-over bar is necessary. See ADJUSTMENTS . Verify proper operation of roll-over bar. See ROLL BAR CRASH DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM FUNCTION TEST (SECTION 19.2/11.1) under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
Repair Work After Accidents - After an accident, it is necessary to replace system components under the following conditions:
- Defect in control module.
- Deformation or damage to control module or rear axle switches.
- Defect identified during testing.
- Damage to roll-over bar covering or foam padding beneath or support and actuating components.
- Convenience feature does not function.
- Malfunction indicator light does not go out.
