Inspect Thermostat

NOTE:

Visually inspect that the valve is not open at normal temperatures.
Place the thermostat into a container filled with water.
WARNING:
- The thermostat and water reach high temperatures during the following inspection. Do not touch the thermostat and water directly. Otherwise, it could cause severe burns.
Heat water to inspect the following.
- Opening valve temperature and lift amount
  - If there is any malfunction, replace the thermostat.
Temperature at which thermostat starts to open

82.0-83.5°C {180-182°F}

Thermostat fully-open temperature

95°C {203°F}

Thermostat fully-open lift amount

8.5 mm {0.33 in} or more
