- Inspect for evaporative gas leakage from the fuel-filler opening.
Step 3-5
- Inspect for evaporative gas leakage from the fuel tank side.
Step 6-10
- Inspect for evaporative gas leakage from the charcoal canister side.
Step 11-13
- Inspect control parts for normal operation.
Repair completion verification
- Verify that the primary malfunction is resolved and there are no other malfunctions.

P0455-00: (PCM - VIN Y) TROUBLESHOOTING DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	PURPOSE: INSPECTION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE FROM FUEL-FILLER CAP Verify that the fuel-filler cap is completely closed. Is the fuel-filler cap completely closed?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Close the fuel-filler cap completely and perform the repair completion verification 1.
2	PURPOSE: DETERMINE INTEGRITY OF FUEL FILLER CAP Inspect the fuel filler cap. Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the fuel filler cap and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to FUEL-FILLER PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	PURPOSE: INSPECTION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE FROM EVAPORATIVE GAS PASSAGE Verify the hoses between the following parts, pipe connection condition, and that there is no cracking or damage. Between fuel tank and fuel tank pressure sensor Between fuel tank pressure sensor and pressure control valve Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	PURPOSE: INSPECTION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE CAUSED BY POOR INSTALLATION OF FUEL PUMP Verify the fuel pump unit installation condition (clearance between affixing surfaces, installation angle). (Refer to FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the fuel pump unit installed securely?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Retighten the fuel pump unit and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
5	PURPOSE: INSPECT FUEL TANK FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to FUEL TANK INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to FUEL TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
6	PURPOSE: INSPECTION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE FROM EVAPORATIVE GAS PASSAGE Verify the hoses between the following parts, pipe connection condition, and that there is no cracking or damage. Between pressure control valve and charcoal canister main Between pressure control valve and charcoal canister sub Between charcoal canister main and charcoal canister sub Between charcoal canister sub and CV solenoid valve Between charcoal canister main and catch tank Between catch tank and purge solenoid valve Between purge solenoid valve and intake manifold Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
6		No	Go to the next step.
7	PURPOSE: INSPECT PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
7		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
8	PURPOSE: INSPECT CHARCOAL CANISTER MAIN FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to CHARCOAL CANISTER INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
8		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to CHARCOAL CANISTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
9	PURPOSE: INSPECT CHARCOAL CANISTER SUB FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to CHARCOAL CANISTER INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
9		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to CHARCOAL CANISTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
10	PURPOSE: INSPECT CATCH TANK FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to CATCH TANK INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
10		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
11	PURPOSE: INSPECT PURGE SOLENOID VALVE FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to PURGE SOLENOID VALVE INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
11		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to PURGE SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
12	PURPOSE: INSPECT CV SOLENOID VALVE FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to CANISTER VENT (CV) SOLENOID VALVE INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
12		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to CANISTER VENT (CV) SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
13	PURPOSE: INSPECT FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
13		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repair completion verification 1	PURPOSE: VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .) Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure. Implement the repeatability verification procedure. (See REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .) Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repair completion verification 1		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2	PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
Repair completion verification 2		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
