Troubleshooting Diagnostic Procedure

U2005-02: (SAS) TROUBLESHOOTING DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 PURPOSE: VERIFY ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT/DSC HU/CM DTCs. 
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is a DTC displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [DSC] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 PURPOSE: INSPECT WIRING HARNESS (INCLUDING CONNECTOR/TERMINAL) BETWEEN ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT/DSC HU/CM AND SAS CONTROL MODULE FOR MALFUNCTION 
WARNING:
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform repair completion verification 1.
3 PURPOSE: INSPECT ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT/DSC HU/CM FOR MALFUNCTION DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY 
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Connect the negative battery terminal/negative lead-acid battery terminal. (Refer to NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION in service information.)
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on)/switch the main power ON (READY off or on).
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.

    (See CLEARING DTC .)

  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module.

    (See DTC INSPECTION .)

  • Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

  • If the CAN communication is normal, replace the electronically controlled brake unit/DSC HU/CM and perform repair completion verification 1. (Refer to [ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in service information.) (Refer to DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
No Perform repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF VEHICLE IS REPAIRED 
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module.

    (See DTC INSPECTION .)

  • Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1 again.
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED 
  • Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are other DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
