  • Set the airflow volume control switch to MAX.
  • Does the blower motor rotate?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Perform the applicable symptom troubleshooting.
(See AMOUNT OF AIR BLOWN FROM VENTS DOES NOT CHANGE .)
4 VERIFY AIRFLOW CONDITION
  • Set the airflow mode to VENT mode.
  • Set the airflow volume control switch to MAX.
  • Does sufficient air flow from the vents when the airflow mode is in VENT mode?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to Step 7.
5 VERIFY AIRFLOW CONDITION
  • Set the airflow mode to HEAT mode.
  • Set the airflow volume control switch to MAX.
  • Does sufficient air flow from the vents when the airflow mode is in HEAT mode?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to Step 7.
6 VERIFY AIRFLOW CONDITION
  • Set the airflow mode to DEFROSTER mode.
  • Set the airflow volume control switch to MAX.
  • Does sufficient air flow from the vents when the airflow mode is in DEFROSTER mode?
Yes Go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
7 VERIFY DUCT INSTALLATION CONDITION  Yes After securely installing the duct to the correct position and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to FRONT HEAT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
(Refer to REAR HEAT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
No Go to the next step.
8 VERIFY AIRFLOW MODE LINK OPERATION
  • Verify the operation by manually operating the airflow mode link.
  • Does the airflow mode link operate smoothly?

(Refer to AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR REMOVAL [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR REMOVAL [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
(Refer to AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
10 VERIFY EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION  Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
Repair completion verification 1 VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED
  • Does air flow from the vents while in each airflow mode?
Yes Troubleshooting completed.
(Explain repair contents to customer.)
No Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
