Troubleshooting Diagnostic Procedure

B1A11-2B: (CMU) TROUBLESHOOTING DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 PURPOSE: INSPECT CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) FOR INTERNAL MALFUNCTION 
  • Switch the ignition off/main power OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off)/(READY off).
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).

    (See DTC INSPECTION .)

  • Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [CMU] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 PURPOSE: INSPECT BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) FOR INTERNAL MALFUNCTION 
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is a DTC related to an internal malfunction displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [BCM] .)
No Go to the next step.
3 PURPOSE: INSPECT AUDIO AMPLIFIER FOR MALFUNCTION 
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.

    (See CLEARING DTC .)

  • Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).

    (See DTC INSPECTION .)

  • Is the DTC B1238-49: displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No Go to the next step.
4 PURPOSE: INSPECT WIRING HARNESS (INCLUDING CONNECTOR/TERMINAL) BETWEEN REAR DOOR SPEAKER (LH) AND AUDIO AMPLIFIER FOR MALFUNCTION 
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
5 PURPOSE: INSPECT REAR DOOR SPEAKER (LH) FOR MALFUNCTION 
  • Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to SPEAKER INSPECTION in service information.)
  • Is the part normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace the rear door speaker (LH) and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to REAR DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
6 PURPOSE: INSPECT AUDIO OUTPUT FROM REAR DOOR SPEAKER (LH) 
  • Perform the [Active Speaker Check Function] using the diagnostic assist function. (See DIAGNOSTIC ASSIST FUNCTION [CMU] .)
  • Does the rear door speaker (LH) output audio at the time of its turn?
Yes Perform the [Action for Non-repeatable Malfunction].

If DTC is displayed: 
  • Repeat the diagnosis from Step 1.

If DTC is not displayed: 
  • Go to repair completion verification 2.
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 1 PURPOSE: VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED 
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.

    (See CLEARING DTC .)

  • Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure.
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU).

  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED 
  • Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
