Liftgate Lower Trim Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (with power liftgate (PLG) system) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Liftgate recess cover (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (with power liftgate (PLG) system) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure while detaching the tabs. (with power liftgate (PLG) system)

  4. Remove the screws.

  5. Remove the fasteners.

  6. Take the shaded area shown in the figure, and pull the liftgate lower trim in the direction of the arrow in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4) and remove it while detaching clips A, clips B, pins.

  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
