OCV For Hydraulic Variable Valve Timing System Inspection: Notes

WARNING:

A hot engine can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before servicing.

Coil resistance inspection

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION ).
Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Disconnect the OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system connector.
Measure the resistance between terminals A and B using an ohmmeter.

OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system coil resistance

6.9-7.5 ohms [20°C {68°F}]
- If not as specified, replace the OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system. (See OCV FOR HYDRAULIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Install in the reverse order of removal.
