ENGINE STALLS WHEN SHIFTED TO D, M, R POSITION (ET6A-EL, ET6AX-EL, US) DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Troubleshooting item Engine stalls when shifted to D, M or R position
Description
  • Engine stalls when shifting from N or P position to D, M or R position at idle.
Possible cause
  1. Not within idle speed specification
  2. TCC piston malfunction (solenoid drive circuit, hydraulic passage blockage, poor operation)
    • Output solenoid valve malfunction (stuck)
    • TCC control solenoid
  3. Torque converter malfunction
