Diagnostic Procedure

DTC B00C0:93, B00C1:93, B00C2:93 OR B00C3:93 [SAS CONTROL MODULE] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION
WARNING:
Yes Replace the malfunctioning part and perform the repair completion verification.
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION
Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace the malfunctioning part and perform the repair completion verification.
3 INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
  • Seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Inspect the following seat weight sensor circuits for a short to ground. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    • Power supply circuit
    • Signal circuit
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for a short to ground while shaking the wiring harness between the seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module.
  • Is the circuit normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
4 INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
  • Seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Inspect the following seat weight sensor circuits for open circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    • Power supply circuit
    • Signal circuit
    • Ground circuit
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for open circuit while shaking the wiring harness between the seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module.
  • Is the circuit normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
5 INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO OTHER SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CIRCUIT
  • Seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Inspect for continuity between the seat weight sensor signal circuit and following seat weight sensor circuits. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    • Power supply circuit
    • Ground circuit
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for continuity while shaking the wiring harness between the seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
No Go to the next step.
6 INSPECT SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
  • Seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  • Inspect the seat weight sensor signal circuit for a short to power supply. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for a short to power supply while shaking the wiring harness between the seat weight sensor and seat weight sensor control module.
  • Is the circuit normal?
Yes Replace the suspect seat weight sensor and go to the next step.

No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
7 VERIFY WHERE MALFUNCTION IS IN SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONTROL MODULE OR ELSEWHERE
  • Switch the ignition off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  • Reconnect all disconnected connectors.
  • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are the same Pending DTCs present?
Yes Replace the suspect seat weight sensor control module and perform the repair completion verification.

No Perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
  • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are the same Pending DTCs present?
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
