Active Air Shutter Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Mazda CX-30. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
- The integrity of the active air shutter cannot be determined from a single part. When inspecting the active air shutter, perform the following procedure.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
- Display the PCM PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] and the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] using the M-MDS. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) (See SIMULATION INSPECTION .) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE PCM (SKYACTIV-G (US)) .) (See SIMULATION TABLE PCM (SKYACTIV-G (US)) .)
- Verify that the PID [AIRSHUT_POS_ACT] value changes according to the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] value when the simulation item [AIRSHUT_POS_COMD] is driven from 0 degrees to the maximum value.
- If it cannot be verified, replace the active air shutter. (See ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
