Fuel Injector Operation Inspection

WARNING:
  • When inspecting or repairing the fuel system, always proceed with the diagnostics while verifying the [warnings] in the procedure. Not heeding the warnings could lead to an accident which could cause serious injury or death, and damage to equipment.
  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  2. Start the engine and warm it up.
  3. Perform the KOER self-test and verify that none of the following DTCs is detected. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
    • P0201:00
    • P0202:00
    • P0203:00
    • P0204:00
  4. If any of the following DTCs can be verified, perform the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G (US))] .)
    • P0201:00
    • P0202:00
    • P0203:00
    • P0204:00
  5. Monitor the engine speed (ENG_RPM) signal using the PID/data monitor function. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .)
  6. Using the simulation function [INJ], verify that the PID [ENG_RPM] decreases when operation of each injector is stopped. (See SIMULATION INSPECTION .)
    • If there is no decrease, perform the following procedure.
  1. Inspect the resistance for the fuel injectors. (See RESISTANCE INSPECTION .)
  2. If there is no malfunction in the fuel injectors, inspect the connection condition of the following connectors for the applicable cylinders.
    • PCM
    • Fuel injector
  3. If the connection condition of the connectors is normal, replace the applicable fuel injectors. (See FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
