Power Liftgate (PLG) Touch Sensor Removal/Installation

Location of use: PLG touch sensor

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
Remove the following parts:
1. Liftgate upper trim (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Liftgate side trim (See LIFTGATE SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Liftgate recess (See LIFTGATE RECESS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Door lock switch (liftgate) (With door lock switch (liftgate)) (See DOOR LOCK SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
5. PLG rear switch (With PLG) (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) REAR SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Liftgate lower trim (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Disconnect the connector.

Remove the fasteners.

Remove the screw.
Insert a remover tool into the position shown in the illustration.

Using the remover tool, detach the tabs of the grommet from the liftgate.
Remove the wiring harnesses from the vehicle body.
Remove the PLG touch sensor.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
