Diagnostic Procedure

NO USB AUDIO SOUND OUTPUT - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 VERIFY ALL SYSTEM DTCs
Yes Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT USB DEVICE FOR MALFUNCTION
  • After obtaining the customer's consent, replace with a USB device that was not used when the malfunction occurred.
  • Select the USB audio mode by operating the commander switch or the center display.
  • Is sound from the USB audio output?
Yes System is normal. (Explain to the customer that the USB device or internal data has a malfunction)
No Go to the next step.
3 INSPECT USB PORT/SD CARD SLOT HUB FOR MALFUNCTION
  • Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to the [USB PORT INSPECTION ] in the workshop service information)
  • Is the part normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.

4 INSPECT REMOTE TUNER (RT) FOR MALFUNCTION
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (Refer to the [CLEARING DTC ] in the workshop service information)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU). (Refer to the [ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC - MAZDA CONNECT ] in the workshop service information)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Replace the remote tuner (RT) and perform the repair completion verification.

No Go to repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?
Yes Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain contents of repair to customer)
No Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
