Knee Air Bag Module Removal/Installation (Us/CANADA): Passenger-side: Notes

- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY (US) .)
- Disconnect the passenger-side knee air bag module connector. (See KNEE AIR BAG MODULE CONNECTOR DISCONNECT NOTE .)
- Remove the nuts.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the passenger-side knee air bag module.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and turns off.
- If the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the onboard diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
