Rear Door Latch And Lock Actuator Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Fully close the rear door glass.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  3. Remove the following parts:
    1. Power window sub switch (See POWER WINDOW SUB SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear door trim (See REAR DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Rear inner handle (See INNER HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Disconnect the connector.

    CAUTION:
    • When removing the service hole cover, insert the remover tool so as not to damage the seal rubber.
  5. Detach the service hole cover tabs from the body using a remover tool.

  6. Remove the clips.

  7. Remove the grommet.
  8. Pull the door lock knob cable and the inner handle cable from the service hole cover.
  9. Remove the service hole cover. (See SERVICE HOLE COVER INSTALLATION NOTE .)
  10. Remove the screws.

  11. Tilt the rear door latch and lock actuator in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the illustration and lift it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the hook of the rear door latch and lock actuator.

  12. Move the rear door latch and lock actuator down in the direction of arrow shown in the illustration to remove the rod from the rod holder.

  13. Remove the rear door latch and lock actuator. (See REAR OUTER HANDLE BRACKET INSTALLATION NOTE .)
  14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
