Diagnostic Procedure

Step Inspection Action
1 INSPECT AUXILIARY JACK/USB PORT/SD CARD SLOT HUB CONNECTOR CONDITION  Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 5.
2 INSPECT CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) CONNECTOR CONDITION 
  • Disconnect the connectivity master unit (CMU) connector.
  • Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
  • Is the connector normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 5.
3 INSPECT AUXILIARY JACK/USB PORT/SD CARD SLOT HUB CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT 
  • Verify that the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub connector and the connectivity master unit (CMU) connector are disconnected.
  • Inspect the wiring harness for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side).
    • Connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 4B and auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub terminal 2B
    • Connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 4D and auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub terminal 2D
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No
  • Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between the following terminals.
  • Connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 4B and auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub terminal 2B
  • Connectivity master unit (CMU) terminal 4D and auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub terminal 2D

If there is a common connector: 

  • Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location.
  • Repair or replace the malfunctioning location.

If there is no common connector: 

  • Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.

Go to Step 5.
4 VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS AUXILIARY JACK/USB PORT/SD CARD SLOT HUB DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY  Yes Replace the auxiliary jack/USB port/SD card slot hub, then go to the next step.

No Go to Step 6.
5 VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED  Yes Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
Go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
6 VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED 
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No DTC troubleshooting completed.
