Function Inspection Using M-MDS

STEP INSPECTION RESULTS ACTION
1 PURPOSE: VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
  • Verify related Service Bulletins and/or on-line repair information availability.
  • Is any related repair information available?
Yes Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
  • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
2 PURPOSE: RECORD VEHICLE STATUS AT TIME OF DTC DETECTION TO UTILIZE WITH REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION
  • Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/snapshot data been recorded?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/snapshot data on the repair order, then go to the next step.
NOTE:
  • Recording can be facilitated using the screen capture function of the PC.
3 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT IS AFFECTED BY MALFUNCTION OF CONTROL PART REQUIRED FOR DIAGNOSIS Yes Go to the applicable PENDING CODE or DTC inspection.

No P0442:00 or P0455:00 is diagnosed:
  • Go to the next step.

    P0456:00 is diagnosed:

  • Go to Step 5.
4 PURPOSE: INSPECTION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE Yes Go to Step 6.
No Go to Step 9.
5 PURPOSE: INSPECTION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE
  • Perform the smoke test using the tester (134-01049).
  • Is evaporative gas leakage detected?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to Step 9.
6 PURPOSE: VERIFY FUEL FILLER CAP MALFUNCTION Yes Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 1.
No Go to the next step.
7 PURPOSE: SPECIFY LOCATION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE (FUEL TANK SIDE) Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 3.
8 PURPOSE: SPECIFY LOCATION OF EVAPORATIVE GAS LEAKAGE (CHARCOAL CANISTER SIDE) Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 6.
9 PURPOSE: DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY CONTROL PART (PURGE SOLENOID VALVE) REQUIRED FOR DIAGNOSIS Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 9.
10 PURPOSE: DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY CONTROL PART (CV SOLENOID VALVE) REQUIRED FOR DIAGNOSIS Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 10.
11 PURPOSE: DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSED BY CONTROL PART (FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR) REQUIRED FOR DIAGNOSIS Yes Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 1.
No Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 11.
