Diagnostic Procedure

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Action
1 VERIFY AREA AROUND RADIATOR GRILLE ORNAMENT
  • Visually inspect the area around the radiator grille ornament for the following:
    • Dirt
      • Adhering foreign matter (reflective object)
  • Is there any dirt, foreign matter (reflective object) or damage, or are there any scratches around the radiator grille?
Yes Return the surfaces of the radiator grille ornament to their normal condition, then go to Step 5.
No Go to the next step.
2 VERIFY AREA AROUND RADAR UNIT
  • Remove front bumper. (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  • Visually inspect the area around the radar unit for the following:
    • Dirt
  • Is there any dirt, foreign matter (reflective object) or damage, or are there any scratches around the radar unit?
Yes Return the radar unit to their normal condition, then go to Step 5.
No Vehicles with distance recognition support system (DRSS):
  • Go to Step 4.

Vehicles without distance recognition support system (DRSS):
  • Go to the next step.
3 VERIFY CENTER DISPLAY
  • Verify if "SBS/MRCC radar (sensor) malfunction. Clean the entire surface of the front grill emblem if dirty or covered with snow." is displayed in the center display.
  • Is "SBS/MRCC radar (sensor) malfunction. Clean the entire surface of the front grill emblem if dirty or covered with snow." displayed?
Yes Clean the radar unit, then go to Step 5.
(See RADAR UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
No Go to Step 5.
4 VERIFY CENTER DISPLAY
  • Verify if "SBS/MRCC/DRSS radar (sensor) malfunction. Clean the entire surface of the front grill emblem if dirty or covered with snow." is displayed in the center display.
  • Is "SBS/MRCC/DRSS radar (sensor) malfunction. Clean the entire surface of the front grill emblem if dirty or covered with snow." displayed?
Yes Clean the radar unit, then go to the next step.
(See RADAR UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
No Go to the next step.
5 VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
  • Clear the DTC for the radar unit using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [RADAR UNIT] .)
  • Drive the vehicle at 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for 3 min or more.
  • Retrieve the radar unit DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [RADAR UNIT] .)
  • Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
Go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
6 VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No DTC troubleshooting completed.
