Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) Bracket Removal/Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Rear combination light (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear splash shield (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the nuts.
- Remove the blind spot monitoring (BSM) bracket.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.CAUTION:
- If the blind spot monitoring (BSM) bracket is replaced, not performing the blind spot monitoring (BSM) radar test will cause a deviation in the radar emission angle which could result in the system not detecting a vehicle approaching from the rear correctly. When the blind spot monitoring (BSM) bracket is replaced, perform the blind spot monitoring (BSM) radar test.
- When the blind spot monitoring (BSM) bracket is replaced, perform the blind spot monitoring (BSM) radar test.(See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST .)
