DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) SYSTEM DTCs Retrieve the blind spot monitoring (BSM) system DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] .) Are any DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE] .)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE (LH) MALFUNCTION Clear the DTC for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 20 s or more. Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Replace the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH), then go to the next step. (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2		No	Go to Step 4.
3	VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED Clear the DTC for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 20 s or more. Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .) Is the same DTC displayed?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) Go to the next step.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER] .)
4		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
