Oil Seal (Extension Housing) Replacement

  1. Drain the transmission oil.

    (See TRANSMISSION OIL REPLACEMENT .)

  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Front tunnel member
    2. Rear tunnel member
    3. Catalytic converter, middle pipe, main silencer

      (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

    4. Heat insulator
    5. Propeller shaft

      (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  3. Remove the oil seal using a flathead screwdriver.

  4. Tap a new oil seal into the case using the SSTs  .

  5. Apply the specified oil to the oil seal lip.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Add transmission oil.
