Road Test Procedure

NOTE:
The NORMAL mode and SLOPE mode are automatically selected by the TCM in "D" range. The TCM shifts to SLOPE mode when the uphill grade is about 5 percent or more, and shifts to NORMAL mode when the uphill grade is about 3 percent or less.
Drive vehicle with wide open throttle, half throttle, closed throttle position and kickdown. Verify that following shifts are obtained:
- 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, 3rd to 4th, and 4th to 5th upshifts and downshifts are obtained in "D" range (O/D OFF switch off).
- 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th upshifts and downshifts are obtained in "D" range (O/D OFF switch On).
- 2nd to 3rd upshifts and downshifts are obtained in "3" range.
- 2nd is held in "2" range.
Decelerate vehicle under the following conditions and verify the engine braking effect based on the turbine and engine speeds:
- 5th in "D" range (O/D OFF switch Off).
- 4th in "D" range (O/D OFF switch On).
- 3rd in "3" range.
- 2nd in "2" range.
Drive the vehicle and verify that TCC operation is obtained in 4th and 5th in "D" range. Shift points must be as specified. See SHIFT SPEED SPECIFICATIONS .
