Diagnostic Procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	INSPECT TFT SENSOR AND RELATED CIRCUIT FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the TFT sensor and related wiring harness: vibration, intermittent open/short circuit (See TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE (TFT) SENSOR INSPECTION .) Is it normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Repair or replace part if necessary.
2	INSPECT LINE PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the line pressure control solenoid. (See LINE PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID INSPECTION .) Is it normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Inspect the coupler component. If normal, replace the control valve body. (See CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS OIL COOLER PIPE OR TRANSAXLE Inspect for bending, damage, corrosion or kinks of the oil cooler pipes. Are oil cooler pipes normal?	Yes	Replace the transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3		No	Replace any malfunctioning parts.
4	Verify test results. If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms. If malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Bulletins and/or On-line Repair Information and perform repair or diagnosis. If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting completed. If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the TCM.
