Airflow Inspection

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI 3.7 V6] .)
- Disconnect the PCV valve hose from the PCV valve. (See POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Verify that there is no airflow when pressure is applied to the PCV valve using a vacuum pump.
- If there is airflow, replace the PCV valve. (See POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Verify that there is airflow when vacuum is applied to the PCV valve.
- If there is no airflow, replace the PCV valve. (See POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
