Diagnostic procedure

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED 
  • Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
 Yes Go to next step.
No Record FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to next step
2 VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY 
  • Verify related Service Bulletins availability.
  • Is any related Service Bulletins available?
 Yes Perform repair or diagnosis according to available Service Bulletins
  • If vehicle is not repaired, go to next step
No Go to next step
3 INSPECT THE PCV SYSTEM FOR EVIDENCE OF WATER OR ICE 
  • Disconnect the air hose from the throttle body
  • Inspect for water or oily residue at the PCV fresh air port
  • Disconnect the ventilation hose at the cylinder head cover.
  • Verify the ventilation hose for ice obstruction/ice.
  • Start the engine
  • Place a piece of cardboard on the crankcase vent in the rocker cover
  • Does the cardboard stay on the crankcase vent without fumes exhausting?
 Yes The PCV system is normal
Go to Step 7.
No Go to the next step.
4 INSPECT THE PCV VALVE SIDE OF THE SYSTEM FOR ICE OR OBSTRUCTION 
  • Switch the ignition to off
  • Inspect the PCV valve side of the system for ice or obstruction
  • Is there any malfunction?
 Yes Repair or replace the suspected part, then go to Step 7
No Go to the next step.
5 INSPECT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR OBSTRUCTION 
  • Inspect the intake manifold for obstruction
  • Is there any malfunction?
 Yes Repair or replace the suspected part, then go to Step 7.
No Go to the next step.
6 INSPECT THE PCV VALVE VACUUM FLOW 
  • Inspect the PCV valve for proper vacuum flow
  • Is there any malfunction?
 Yes Repair or replace the suspected part, then go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
7 VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P2072:00 HAS BEEN COMPLETED 
  • Verify that all disconnected connectors reconnected.
  • Clear DTC from memory using M-MDS.
  • Perform KOEO/KOER Self-Test.
  • Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?
 Yes Replace the PCM, then go to next step

No Go to next step
8 VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE 
 Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No Troubleshooting completed
