Shift-Lock System Inspection

- Shift the selector lever to the P position.
- Switch the ignition to ON.
- Inspect the shift-lock system.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the shift-lock solenoid. See
SHIFT-LOCK SOLENOID INSPECTION .
- Verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted from P to R position when the brake pedal is released.
- Verify that the selector lever can be shifted from P to R position when the brake pedal is depressed.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the shift-lock solenoid. See
