Rear CROSSMEMBER Removal/Installation: Notes

CAUTION:
- Performing the following procedures without first removing the ABS wheel-speed sensor may possibly cause an open circuit in the harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before performing the following procedures, remove the ABS wheel-speed sensor (axle side) and fix it to an appropriate place where the sensor will not be pulled by mistake while servicing the vehicle.
- Remove the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor, and disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor harness from the rear trailing link. See REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the exhaust system, and remove the following parts.
For the vehicle with L5
- Disconnect the TWC from the exhaust manifold. See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .
- Remove the main silencer, middle pipe and TWC as a single unit.
For the vehicle with MZI-3.7
- Disconnect the presilencer from the front pipe. See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
- Remove the main silencer (LH/RH), middle pipe and presilencer as a single unit.
- Remove the rear stabilizer. See REAR STABILIZER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
- Remove the rear coil spring. See REAR COIL SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
- Remove the rear lower arm. See REAR LOWER ARM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
- Remove the rear lateral link. See REAR LATERAL LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Inspect the rear wheel alignment. See REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT .
