Airflow Inspection

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
- Disconnect the PCV valve hose from the PCV fitting. See POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) FITTING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
- Verify that there is no airflow when pressure is applied to the PCV fitting using a vacuum pump.
- If there is airflow, replace the PCV fitting. See POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) FITTING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
- Verify that there is airflow when vacuum is applied to the PCV fitting.
- If there is no airflow, replace the PCV fitting. See POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) FITTING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZI-3.7] .
