Oil Seal (Differential) Replacement

CAUTION:
- Performing the following procedures without first removing the ABS wheel-speed sensor may possibly cause an open circuit in the wiring harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before performing the following procedures, disconnect the ABS wheel-speed sensor connector (axle side) and fix the wiring Harness to an appropriate place where it will not be pulled toy mistake while servicing the vehicle.
- On level ground, jack up the vehicle and support it evenly on safety stands.
- Remove the aerodynamic under cover No. 2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Drain the transaxle oil from the transaxle. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.5] .)
- Remove the front tires. (See GENERAL PROCEDURES (SUSPENSION) .)
- Remove the splash shields. (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the drive shaft (LH) from the transaxle. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the drive shaft (RH) from the joint shaft. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the joint shaft. (See JOINT SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the oil seals using a screwdriver.
- Using the SSTs and a hammer, tap each new oil seal in evenly until the SST contacts the transaxle case.
- Coat the lip of each oil seal with transaxle oil.
- Install the joint shaft. (See JOINT SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the drive shaft (RH) to the joint shaft. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the drive shaft (LH) to the transaxle. (See DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the splash shields. (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the front tires. (See GENERAL PROCEDURES (SUSPENSION) .)
- Add the specified amount and type of transaxle oil. (See TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT .)
- Install the aerodynamic under cover No. 2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
