Climate Control Pinpoint Test 9: No Operation In High Blower Setting

CLIMATE CONTROL PINPOINT TEST 9 CHART - NO OPERATION IN HIGH BLOWER SETTING

PINPOINT TEST 9 NO OPERATION IN HIGH BLOWER SETTING
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK (B) FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect the function selector switch 4-pin connector 0740-102 for blower motor switch.
  • Key ON.
  • Measure the resistance between the function selector switch connector 0740-102 pin 3 (B) and ground.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
 Yes Go to step 2.
No Repair circuit (B) for an open circuit. Test the system for normal operation.
2 CHECK THE BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH
  • With the blower motor switch set in the HIGH position, measure the resistance between the blower motor switch, component side, pin 1 and pin 3.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
 Yes Replace the blower motor. See BLOWER MOTOR REMOVAL / INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
No Replace the blower motor switch. See HEATER CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL / INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
