Removal Note

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
  • It is not necessary to remove the transmission fluid filter to perform this procedure.
  1. Remove the oil pan. See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN (GASKET AND OIL STRAINER) REMOVAL / INSTALLATION , .
  2. Remove the digital transmission range (TR) sensor. See DIGITAL TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR REMOVAL / INSTALLATION , .

    CAUTION:
    • Do not damage the valve inner lever pin.
  3. Remove the manual valve inner lever nut.
  4. Remove the manual valve inner lever and the parking lever actuating rod.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not damage the case fluid pan rail.
  5. Remove the manual control lever shaft spring pin.

    • Tap lightly on each side of the manual control lever shaft spring pin with a drift punch.
    • Pry the spring pin out of its bore.
  6. Remove the manual control lever shaft.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not damage the bore.
  7. Remove the manual lever shaft seal.
