Engine Front Cover Removal / Installation - 3.0L: Installation

- Clean all sealing surfaces and position a new front cover gasket.
- Position the engine front cover.
- Apply pipe sealant with Teflon® to the bolts to be installed in the locations shown.
- Install the front cover bolts.
- Install the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
- Install the 2 bolts.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm {1.0 kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}
- Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the 2 bolts.
- Install the oil pan. See OIL PAN BAFFLE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L ,
- Install the crankshaft front oil seal. See CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT - 3.0L , .
- Connect the lower radiator hose to the coolant pump outlet.
- Connect the heater hose at the coolant pump.
- Position back the A/C compressor and power steering bracket and install the bolts.
Tightening torque: 47 Nm {4.8 kgf-m, 35 ft-lbf}
- Position the accessory drive belt tensioner and install the bolt.
Tightening torque: 27 Nm {2.8 kgf-m, 20 ft-lbf}
- Install the stud bolts to the A/C compressor mounting bracket.
Tightening torque: 47 Nm {4.8 kgf-m, 35 ft-lbf}
- Position the bracket and install the nut.
Tightening torque: 11 Nm {1.1 kgf-m, 8 ft-lbf}
- Install the coolant pump pulley.
- Install the fan shroud and fan. See COOLING FAN AND CLUTCH REMOVAL / INSTALLATION -- 3.0L .
- Install the drive belt. See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L , .
- Connect the battery.
- Fill the engine with coolant and bleed the system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT -- 3.0L .
