Disassembly Note

Remove the exhaust manifold.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the exhaust manifold.

Remove the exhaust manifold gasket.

Using a Valve Spring Compressor SST 303-163 (T81P-6513-A) or equivalent, remove the valve spring retainer key.

Remove the valve spring retainer.
- For component tests for the valve spring retainer, refer to VALVE SPRING INSPECTION .

Remove the valve stem seal.

Remove the valve.
- For component tests for the valve, refer to VALVE INSPECTION .
- For component tests for the cylinder head, refer to CYLINDER HEAD INSPECTION .
