Radiator Removal / Installation - 4.0L

  1. Drain the cooling system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 4.0L  .

  2. Disconnect the radiator overflow hose or radiator vent hose.
  3. Remove the cooling fan shroud. See FAN SHROUD REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 4.0L  .

  4. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.

  5. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.

    NOTE:
    • To avoid disturbing the transmission oil cooler fittings, use a backup wrench.
  6. If equipped, disconnect the two transmission cooler lines.

  7. Remove the bolts and tilt the radiator back and lift directly upward.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
