Crankshaft Pulley Removal / Installation - 4.0L: Removal

  1. Remove the fan shroud. See FAN SHROUD REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 4.0L .
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt. See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 4.0L  .

    CAUTION:
    • This bolt is a torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.
  3. Using the strap wrench SST  , remove the crankshaft pulley bolt.

    NOTE:
    • If the crankshaft pulley bolt is not installed, the crankshaft vibration damper remover SST  will bottom out before the pulley is off.
  4. Install the crankshaft pulley bolt 2-3 turns. Using the crankshaft vibration damper remover SST  and the 8 mm x 1.25 x 100 mm bolts, remove the pulley.
