Crankshaft Pulley Removal / Installation - 4.0L: Installation

NOTE:
  • If not secured within four minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned. To clean the sealing area, use silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.
  1. Apply silicone gasket and sealant to the Woodruff key slot on the crankshaft pulley.

  2. Using the crankshaft vibration damper installer SST  , install the crankshaft pulley.

  3. Using the strap wrench SST  , install a new crankshaft pulley bolt. Tighten the bolt in two stages.

    Tightening Torque 

    Stage 1: 50 Nm {5.1 kgf-m, 37 ft-lbf} Stage 2: Tighten the bolt an additional 90 degrees. 

  4. Install the accessory drive belt. See DRIVE BELT REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 4.0L  .
  5. Install the fan shroud. See FAN SHROUD REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 4.0L .
