Electric Cooling Fan Removal/Installation - 2.3L

NOTE:
  • The fan shroud and electric cooling fan are serviced as an assembly.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine air cleaner. See ENGINE AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.3L .

  3. Disconnect the electric cooling fan electrical connector.

  4. Remove the bolts and position the power steering reservoir out of the way.

  5. For vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, disconnect the transmission cooling tube from the radiator.

  6. Remove the right side cooling fan shroud mounting bolt and lift the shroud and electric cooling fan assembly from the vehicle.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
