Oil Pan Removal/Installation - 2.3L

  1. Remove the engine from the vehicle. See ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.3L .

  2. Remove the engine oil level indicator assembly.
    1. Remove the engine oil level indicator.
    2. Remove the bolts.
    3. Remove the oil level indicator tube.

  3. Remove the oil pan bolts and oil pan.

    NOTE:
    • Clean and inspect all mating surfaces.
    • The oil pan must be installed and the bolts tightened with four minutes of applying the silicone gasket and sealant.
    • Apply a 2.5 mm bead of silicone gasket and sealant to the oil pan. Install the oil pan. Tighten the oil pan in the sequence shown.
    • Lubricate the engine oil level indicator O-ring with clean engine oil.

  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
