Oil Pan Removal/Installation - 2.3L

- Remove the engine from the vehicle. See ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.3L .
- Remove the engine oil level indicator assembly.
- Remove the engine oil level indicator.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the oil level indicator tube.
- Remove the oil pan bolts and oil pan.
NOTE:
- Clean and inspect all mating surfaces.
- The oil pan must be installed and the bolts tightened with four minutes of applying the silicone gasket and sealant.
- Apply a 2.5 mm bead of silicone gasket and sealant to the oil pan. Install the oil pan. Tighten the oil pan in the sequence shown.
- Lubricate the engine oil level indicator O-ring with clean engine oil.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
