Removal & Installation (Manual Transmission)

  1. Disconnect the brake master cylinder push rod. See Fig 1 . Remove the hairpin clip. Separate the stoplight switch and the brake booster push rod from the brake pedal pin. Remove the brake booster push rod bushing.
  2. Disconnect the Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch electrical connector. See Fig 2 . Disconnect the clutch pedal master cylinder rod. Remove the bulkhead sound insulator.
  3. Remove power brake unit-to-firewall nuts. Remove power brake unit from firewall and support the brake master cylinder and power brake booster in the engine compartment. Remove brake pedal bolts. Remove the brake pedal.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
